Shion 8

woops didn't update for 2 days because I was too occupied with my internship *_* went home at like midnight for the last two days haha. Anyway, I had really exciting meals for the whole week hahaha.

First up was my dinner on Thursday at the Singapore National Day Reception!

So many people! And lots of food, because what would a singaporean gathering be without food?

First thing I gunned for was the Peking duck actually haha. Because from experience I knew it would be the first to run out every year. ...I forgot pics. Haha

Then I had satay! I was so happy to finally eat satay :)) just that it was kinda posh and that was weird haha. Posh satay, posh chicken rice.

And then there was grilled beef nomnom

And then dessert was fruits and cake! The picture does the cake no justice D: it was so good!

There was some funny flag thingy on the table too but it didnt look too tasty so i passed on that.

met some really interesting people too. Can't wait to go for the ASEAN festival in Yokohama on the 4th and 5th hehe.

Anyway, I did also manage to get a picture of yesterday's lunch too,

because they knew we wouldn't have the time to go out for lunch and they ordered sandwiches for us :) so sweet right! Breakfast was oats as usual haha.

I really wish I had more time on this internship because I really learnt so much, but I feel like I wasn't able to show it :/ and I realised that what really matters is the people around you. Being surrounded by people who were so brilliant was a completely new experience for me and it just made me want to work harder, do more, get trashed, work harder again. haha. I say get trashed, but the feedback sessions were just really there to get me to rethink my assumptions and think logically. Every time I came out of the meeting room I felt smarter. hehe And I didn't notice how much I was being affected by the people around me up till now. The level of motivation, brilliance, everything just rubs off it you're surrounded by the right people *_*

During the Q&A session of our final presentations, lol the ALL questions they asked were so sharp and to the point I was just in awe. Like you know how we've been studying critical thinking and all that jazz since secondary school. I never really got it. But I think I kind of do now. I couldn't really answer most of their questions, which was kinda sad, but it really got me thinking.

Before the internship I was just really doubtful about the whole thing. Like, what can you possibly learn in 5 day seriously. And what, a startup? :/ Well, the answer is a whole damn lot, if you got wonderful mentors like me hehe. :) I dont think I've ever thought so hard about something before and it was a really good experience that have me a chance to learn about myself.  I'm so thankful I got this internship :))

Oh and this was the gum I was chewing in the office everyday to stop myself from eating junk from the pantry haha.

So cute right! Shirokuma is like ice kachang with lots of fruits haha. It also means polar bear! I really ove Japanese packaging.
